The two-time defending Class 5A state champion Wilsonville Wildcats (1-1) face their first road test of the season Thursday night when they travel to Hare Field to take on the undefeated Hillsboro Spartans (2-0) in a Special District 2 showdown.

Wilsonville dropped a 28-20 decision to Summit last week, despite junior quarterback Trevor Glos throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns — including two scoring connections with senior standout Keona Tam, who hauled in 10 receptions for 123 yards.

The Spartans have been dominant through two weeks, posting back-to-back 36-point victories over McDaniel and David Douglas behind the explosive offensive trio of junior quarterback Emmett Curl, senior running back Noah Francia and junior playmaker Sorne Olson.
