There's still time to embrace your inner renaissance spirit at a classic Michigan fair as the annual spectacle nears its close.
The Michigan Renaissance Festival , at its grounds near Holly in Oakland County, has just two more weekends left this year, according to its schedule. The Sept. 20-21 theme is "Harvest Hurrah," welcoming in fall with barbecue, archery, vegetable artistry, witch-themed activities and interpreters this Deaf Awareness Weekend.
The annual festival centers around medieval European society, with highlights of global cultures as well. Festival-goers also are known to "cosplay" as pirates, fairies, steampunks and other cultural styles loosely associated with the Renaissance.
