DULUTH — The next volume of Bob Dylan's archival "Bootleg Series" will spotlight the star's early years, dating all the way back to his Hibbing adolescence.

"Bootleg Series Volume 18: Through the Open Window, 1956-1963" will be released Oct. 31 in multiple versions, the most expansive editions containing 139 tracks, including 48 that were never released. One recording, from 1959, will mark a rare official release of a Dylan recording from his Northland youth.

The song, "I Got a New Girl," is described as an "informal recording" made in Hibbing. An early Dylan original, it was recorded at the house of friend Ric Kangas in May 1959. Another song from that session, "When I Got Troubles," was released on the soundtrack of the documentary "No Direction Home" in 2005.
