MOAB CITY, Utah (ABC4) — A black bear was spotted near an elementary school in Moab City.

According to the Moab City Police Department, the bear was spotted at around 2:15 a.m. at 339 McGill Blvd on Thursday. A Grand County deputy responded and located the bear behind the Helen M. Knight Elementary School.

The deputy then saw the bear go into a nearby backyard at Cliffview.

The location of the bear is unknown at this time.

Don't approach and report sightings

The Moab City Police Department has informed the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, who is actively looking for the bear.
