The Maritime Welcome Center at Annapolis’ City Dock can go forward as approved, a circuit court judge declared last week, arguing that a Historic Annapolis petition contesting the center’s approval did not have merit.

The welcome center is a part of the City Dock Resiliency Project that includes a park, the welcome center and flood mitigation barriers.

“This is more than a legal victory for the people of Annapolis,” City Dock Project Manager Eileen Fogarty said in a news release. “The Court confirmed what we already knew: the volunteers who serve on the Historic Preservation Commission followed the process thoughtfully and fairly.
