SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Northern California is likely to experience a milder Thursday during the day and wet weather through the night and into the following morning.

The KCRA 3 weather team has issued an Impact Day for Friday because of the possibility of the morning commute being affected by rain. When driving on wet roads, it is advised to drive more slowly because of less traction on the tires.

However, the rain is only a possibility and not a guarantee for much of the region. Meteorologist Tamara Berg said the best spot for showers and isolated thunderstorms will be south of Highway 50 and along the coast.

Rain and thunderstorm chances begin to increase after sunset, and the weather system is likely to move out of the area around noon Friday.
