BARABOO, Wis. (WMTV) - A Sauk County Court found probable cause Thursday morning against the suspect in a Lake Delton homicide and has set a date for his arraignment, according to online records.
Brandon Bent is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and misdemeanor bail jumping, both with modifiers for use of a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse.
In July, the 23-year-old’s bond was set at $1 million.
Prosecutors requested a $1 million bond, citing Bent’s immigration status and the risk he might flee.
“According to ICE, he has no legal status in this country, meaning that almost certainly if he gets out the federal government will remove him from the country, making him unavailable for trial,” Brinkmeier said.
Bent’s attorney pushed for a significantly lower bond, saying, “
