Detectives have charged a man after a fire broke out at a Birmingham city centre supermarket.
Bashar Alnajar, of no fixed address, was charged with arson and burglary with intent to cause damage after the blaze on Wednesday morning, September 17.
The 25-year-old was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today, September 18.
The blaze took place in Corporation Street in the early hours of the morning. Officers "responded quickly" to reports.
In the latest update, West Midlands Police said: "We’ve charged a man with arson and burglary offences following a fire at a Birmingham supermarket.
"Bashar Alnajar, aged 25, of no fixed address, was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today (Thurs) for a first hearing.
"He is charged with arson a
