CARLETON – St. Mary Catholic Central and Airport were having so much fun on the volleyball court that they didn’t want it to end.

SMCC pulled out a marathon 30-28 victory in the fourth set to wrap up a Huron League victory on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

The Kestrels took the first and third sets 25-22 and 25-18 and Airport was a 25-10 winner in Set 2.

“This was a terrific win against a well-coached Airport team,” SMCC coach Kim Windham said. “We were missing two of the best players in the Region due to injuries. Very proud of the girls playing together as a team in a tough atmosphere.”

Adela Illes had (16 kills, 6 digs), Allie Ruhlig (14 kills), Quinn Harrington (9 kills) and Avery Yaeger (6 kills) led the hitter.

Alexa Turner rang up 32 assist and 13 digs, Renee Foster finished with 17 digs
