Honolulu police are searching for a suspect in an attempted murder case after a violent confrontation at Kahana Bay left a man unconscious on Wednesday.

Police said District 4 officers responded to a nearby hospital in Windward Oahu just before noon after a 37-year-old man was admitted with injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and a 48-year-old man were involved in a verbal argument that escalated when the suspect fired a shot at the victim but missed. The suspect then struck the victim on the head with an object, knocking him unconscious.

The suspect has not been arrested. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
