The Los Angeles Chargers today signed safety Tony Jefferson to the active roster from the practice squad, filling the spot vacated by outside linebacker Khalil Mack being placed on Reserve/Injured. Additionally, the Bolts signed outside linebackers Clelin Ferrell and Rashad Weaver to the practice squad.
Jefferson came out of retirement to sign with the Chargers in 2024, emerging as a key contributor on both defense and special teams with the Bolts. Over the last two season, he has appeared in nine games in the regular season, making six starts, including the victory over Las Vegas last week. With the Bolts, Jefferson has posted 32 tackles (19 solo), a tackle for loss, an interception and two passes defensed. He started the team's AFC Wild Card matchup and registered three tackles
