NILES, Ohio (WKBN) - The Bomb Squad was called after the discovery of homemade explosive devices in a vehicle.
Niles police arrested a man this morning, who they say had weapons and several homemade explosives in his car.
During questioning, the man mentioned another vehicle he had to retrieve from a parking lot at the Eastwood Mall Complex. Police have contacted the Bomb Squad to check that vehicle as well after a dog alerted to the potential of possible explosives inside.
WKBN reached out to a representative of the mall and is waiting to hear back.
The suspect, identified as John Podleyon, of Mercer, was arraigned on five counts of possession of dangerous ordinance charges and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
Bond was set at $100,000 with a preliminary hearing set for Sept.
