JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - A Jackson County man was shot Wednesday morning during a “domestic disturbance,” the Jackson County Sheriff said.
According to the sheriff, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on the 1800 block of Baseline Road around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The 911 caller said he was involved in a “physical altercation” with his 23-year-old son when a gun discharged.
The caller was injured during the fight, but wasn’t hit by gunfire. He left the home safely and contacted 911.
Deputies established a perimeter and attempted to contact the 23-year-old still inside the home. Officials tried to make contact with the man, but did not receive a reply.
A special response team was activated and searched the home, where the man was found inside suffering form a gunshot wound.
