There is no guarantee Kodai Senga will be included on the Mets ’ postseason roster.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said as much Thursday when he was asked whether Senga would definitely have a spot as long as his work in the minor leagues goes well.
“I wouldn’t say definitely,” Mendoza said. “We’ll have the conversations and we’ll take the best 13 guys that we feel are going to give us the best chance to win baseball games in October. In the meantime, we’ve got 10 more [games] and we’ll continue to treat it that way.”
Mendoza’s comments came hours before Senga was set to make his second start at Triple-A Syracuse, where the veteran right-hander has been working to return to form after struggling in the majors for nearly two months.
