Syracuse, N.Y. — Jazz at the Cavalier was born in 2016, when the historic Hotel Syracuse reopened as the Marriott Downtown after an ambitious renovation. A decade later, the midweek cabaret series has grown into a downtown tradition, drawing travelers, locals, and regional jazz fans alike — and it’s still going strong.
The series takes full advantage of the Cavalier Room, a clubby piano lounge unlike anything else in Central New York hotels. Modeled after iconic New York City cabaret rooms such as the Algonquin, Café Carlyle, and the Plaza, Wednesday nights here are devoted to the Great American Songbook. The 2025–26 season begins Oct. 1 and runs through May.
Over the years, the lineup has expanded to feature both regional standouts and nationally known artists, including Marianne Soliva
