EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Boil advisories are to hit two blocks in East Peoria next week for water main upgrades.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, upgrades will be made to the main and water services will be interrupted, a post on the city of East Peoria's Facebook page said.
As soon as the upgrades are completed, the 700 through 900 blocks of South Main Street will be under a boil advisory, the post said.
"Boil advisories are in effect for up to 30 hours after water is fully restored; usually, it is 24 hours after. You need to bring water to a boil for at least 5 minutes," the city of East Peoria's website said.
People affected can still shower and do laundry.
