Jackson Arnold, once heralded as the next star quarterback for Oklahoma, will return to Norman on Saturday leading No. 22 Auburn against the team he left behind.
The highly-touted, five-star recruit’s tenure with the Sooners was tumultuous. After taking over for Dillon Gabriel, Arnold struggled with injuries and inconsistency, lost his starting job, and eventually transferred.
The change of scenery has benefited him. Arnold has guided the undefeated Tigers to a 3-0 start, completing 69 percent of his passes for four touchdowns with no interceptions. He has also rushed for 192 yards and four scores.
