COHOES, N.Y. (WCAX) - New York authorities on Thursday continued their fifth day of searching for a man suspected in the stabbing death of a woman in New York’s North Country.

Amanda Rodriguez, 41, was found dead inside a home on Earl Lynn Court in Cohoes, New York, over the weekend. An autopsy shows she was stabbed.

Police say Rodriguez’s boyfriend, Anthony Bechand, 53, left the home on Sunday, and his truck was found ditched in Brighton, just north of Saranac Lake.

Letha Cruz, a friend of Rodriguez, says loved ones are still struggling to process what happened. “She was just a genuine person, a kind person, just tough and protective, and I just miss her truly. I just really hope that they find him. I just want justice for her,” she said.

The victim is originally from the town of Malo
