According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce , the greeting card industry is seeing a renewed pep in its step with independent names bringing a market refresh to younger generations.

Mint reports how roughly 40 Banner’s Hallmark locations — Banner’s Hallmark being an independent operator of Hallmark Gold Crown stores that have been around for over four decades — in Virginia filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia on Sept. 14.
