WASHINGTON, D.C. - Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced at a press conference today his plans to restructure the organ donation process, and moved to de-certify an organization that facilitates it.

HHS said in a press release that an investigation into the Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency, which operates under the University of Miami Health System, found "years of unsafe practices, poor training, chronic underperformance, understaffing, and paperwork errors."

Kennedy previously announced his plans to reform the organ donation process in July.
