The public session of the Town Council meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 was shorter than usual, but a couple of interesting issues were raised.

The Bristol-Warren Regional School Committee is officially returning the Guiteras School to the Town of Bristol effective Oct. 1. So….what’s next for the grand, 100 year old building that anchors the north end of downtown? Consensus seems to be building around the idea that it would be a great town hall.

It’s in very good condition, according to town officials and Brewster Thornton Group Architects, who did a complete survey of the property. “We did tour the building, and we had a building assessment done on it….the building is in good shape,” said Town Administrator Steven Contente.
