Two law enforcement officers wounded in a Wednesday ambush that killed three others in York County remain hospitalized in critical condition, a hospital spokesperson said.
The officers are stable and have not had any change to their condition since arriving at WellSpan York Hospital, according to WellSpan spokesman Ryan Coyle.
Police said Matthew Ruth, 24, was hiding in a cornfield when officers arrived Wednesday afternoon on the 1800 block of Haar Road. The officers were serving a warrant as part of a stalking investigation that was opened against Ruth when he opened fire around 2:10 p.m., killing three of them.
The officers and their departments have not been identified. WellSpan declined to provide the wounded officers’ ages, genders or the departments where they worked.
