A 35-year-old man was identified today as the homicide victim found in a vehicle's back seat after a police chase, the Allen County Coroner's Office said.

Jorge Luis Granados Guzman of Churubusco died Monday of a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide, a news release said. His death is the 30th homicide ruled this year in Allen County.

Police believe Guzman was shot in the 600 block of West State Boulevard, where they found a lot of blood and shell casings, the Fort Wayne Police Department said Tuesday. Police were called about 1:30 a.m. because callers reported someone had been shot and then placed in the back of a vehicle that then left the area.

Detectives suspected someone removed the victim to conceal the crime, a news release said.
