MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – The Carolina Hurricanes' newest additions certainly passed the “eye” test during the first day of training camp at Invisalign Arena on Thursday.

Forward Nikolaj Ehlers and defenseman K’Andre Miller are the Hurricanes' key offseason acquisitions heading into the 2025-26 season. Ehlers spent 10 successful seasons with the Winnipeg Jets, and now he gets the chance to take on an even bigger role with the Canes.

“I like the competition and talent they have on this team – they’ve been in the top for many years now,” Ehlers said. “It’s a young group that you can see fits together and gels well together, and that’s something I’m looking forward to being a part of.”
