Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse head coach Fran Brown said that he worked with a transferring player to help him make more money from his new school this offseason, an effort to help the player get paid and force his new school to pay a “tax” for taking a player off the Syracuse roster.

Brown did not name the player but detailed the scenario during a podcast appearance with former Clemson defensive back Darien Rencher and former quarterback Mo Hasan, who began his career at Syracuse before going on to Vanderbilt and Southern California.
