LONG BEACH – A woman was hospitalized after she was stabbed near the Coolidge Park neighborhood in Long Beach and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, north of Jordan High School at approximately 6:23 p.m. Tuesday regarding a stabbing. When they arrived at the scene, the officers found the victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body, police said.

Preliminary information about the case indicates the victim was in the area of the attack when she was approached by two female adult suspects and subsequently got into a physical altercation, which escalated when one of the suspects stabbed the victim, according to the police d
