Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre called the NFL “divisive” in a recent interview, saying the league’s use of slogans such as “End Racism” and “Stop Hate” in end zones perpetuates racism rather than promoting unity.

A former player who competed against Favre says the quarterback is wrong and called him out for his legal issues, including his alleged role in Mississippi’s largest welfare fraud scheme.

On a Sept. 3 episode of “The Sage Steele Show,” Favre said continuing to use the slogans in end zones and talking about racism does more harm than discussing unity and progress. The NFL began displaying social justice messages in end zones during the 2020 season following nationwide protests over racial injustice.
