STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 51-year-old man who was selling drugs in his home community of Stapleton was caught with bags of cocaine stashed in his underwear, authorities allege.
The defendant, Joseph Allen of Broad Street in the Stapleton Houses, resisted arrest so dramatically that he attracted a crowd of bystanders, according to the criminal complaint, which was based on an investigation by Narcotics Borough Staten Island.
The episode began when officers spotted Allen exchanging two plastic zipper bags of cocaine for cash with a customer on the 100 block of Broad Street on Sept. 6, the complaint alleges.
