On Aug. 22, the U.S. Bureau of Energy Management, a branch of the Department of the Interior, halted all offshore activity related to the Revolution Wind project. Revolution Wind is a 704-megawatt multi-state wind farm located in federal waters 15 miles south of the Rhode Island coast, 32 miles southeast of the Connecticut coast and 12 miles southwest of Martha’s Vineyard. The project is 80% complete and was expected to produce enough electricity to power 350,000 homes starting in 2026.
