WELLFORD, S.C. (WSPA) - A Wellford woman was sentenced to 35 years in prison on multiple accounts of child neglect, according to the 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

27-year-old Tenika Draper was convicted of 20 counts of unlawful neglect of a child and two counts of obstruction of justice.

The solicitor's office stated the crimes occurred while the child lived in the home of their father and stepmother, who was Draper. When the child was approximately 8 years old, authorities claim Draper and others would physically, emotionally, and psychologically abuse the child by forcing them to eat animal feces, stand in a garbage can for hours with trash thrown at them, lock them in a closet, force them to wear a diaper, repeatedly hit with a cutting board, force-fed laxatives, and beaten by Drape
