Mets All-Star slugger downplays 'meaningless' free agency talk

The New York Mets are fighting to keep their postseason hopes alive as the Philadelphia Phillies have officially clinched the NL East division, and one man that is leading that charge to the playoffs is first baseman Pete Alonso, who has been enjoying another sensational season of home run hitting in Queens.

While Alonso is red-hot in the box now, many are wondering what the future holds for the "Polar Bear" after the end of the season, given that Alonso was noncommittal to the team in recent comments about his looming free agency.

However, according to the team's all-time home run leader, there's no time to think about that stuff right now.
