CONEJOS COUNTY, Colo. (FOX Carolina) - The family of one of two hunters who were last heard from on Sept. 11 in Colorado said they were found dead on Thursday.

Our sister station KKTV reported that deputies with the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Rio De Los Pinos Trailhead to make contact with Andrew Porter, a 25-year-old man from Asheville, N.C., and Ian Stasko, a 25-year-old man from Salt Lake City, UT, who were reported to be overdue while elk hunting in the San Juan Wilderness Area.

KKTV said that their car was found with their camping gear and backpacks still inside and that Search and Rescue operations were immediately put into place, with air operations, multi-county and state ground teams, dog teams, drone teams, ATVs and local volunteers working the area in a
