PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (KLTV) - The 2025 Nitro Bassmaster Elite Qualifier at Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, New York, began on Thursday with four East Texas anglers in the mix.

The field is made up of the top 50 anglers from the two Opens divisions and any Elite Series angler trying to qualify for the classic.

Beckville’s Jace Lindsay is tied for 10th place after day one. Lindsay caught five fish weighing 21 pounds, 13 ounces. Sitting tied for 20th place is Emory’s Jack York. York caught five fish weighing 21 pounds even.

Winnsboro’s Pake South, the Opens Division 2 Angler of the Year, is tied for 44th after the first day of fishing. South caught five fish weighing 20 pounds even. Diboll’s River Lee sits tied for 70th after catching five fish weighing 18 pounds, 14 ounces.
