A Sacramento event is promising access to more literature for local students and children as part of a book giveaway.

The fourth annual Literacy Is Key is a storytime safari event where authors from the region will read their books at Rainbow Park, located at 6121 Martin Luther King Blvd. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Among the lineup of readers is KCRA 3's Leticia Ordaz, who will read her latest book, "The Power of a Sister Circle."

On top of free books, attendees will have a free hot dog lunch, face painting, games, raffle prizes and additional information from community organizations, according to a release from event organizers.

Dance performances from local troupes Silver Dance Studio and Mendoza Folklorico Dance Company will also be an option for entertainment.
