SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. — South Beloit Police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead on Tuesday.
Around 9:00 a.m. on Sept. 16, police made a welfare check at a home in the 1000 block of Gardner St.
When they arrived, officers found the home locked with no response at the door. A bullet hole was seen in one of the home's windows. Officers entered and found two adults, a 55-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman, both dead. Autopsies conducted by the Winnebago County Coroner's Office confirmed they both died from their gunshot wounds.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office and the South Beloit Police Department are working together to investigate this case. They say it is consistent with a domestic-related murder-suicide, in which the woman was killed before the man died from a
