KALAMAZOO, MI – A 15-year-old Kalamazoo teenager has been arrested after leading police on a foot chase.
The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and Crime Reduction Team were conducting a directed patrol on Sept. 17 when they attempted to contact the teenager who fled, according to a news release from Kalamazoo Public Safety.
The teenager was allegedly observed illegally concealing a firearm in the 2100 block of Inverness Lane, according to the release.
While running, the teen allegedly discarded the firearm. He was apprehended a short distance away, according to the release.
The discarded firearm had an extended magazine, according to the release.
The teenager was lodged in the Kalamazoo Juvenile Home on concealed carrying, resisting and obstructing police and felony firearm charges.
