PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One of the three officers killed in a deadly ambush in York County, Pennsylvania , was a former member of the Philadelphia Police Department.
Detective Mark Baker, who served with the Philadelphia police from 2001 to 2004, was among those killed in the attack. He began his career in the city's 25th District and later joined the highway patrol unit.
"Knowing Mark and knowing now what happened, it just breaks our heart," said Roosevelt Poplar, president of the Fraternal Order of Police. "It's like it hit home again."
Officials say Baker, along with Det. Sgt. Cody Becker and Det. Isaiah Emenheiser, were serving a warrant on a suspect stalker when the man opened fire on them.
That suspect was killed a few moments later.
