SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Mayor James Mueller and Public Works Director Eric Horvath take to the streets to highlight recent efforts by the city.

The mayor alongside a street crew offered a demonstration to show how asphalt crack sealing works.

They also made a point to mention why this is an important preventative measure in road maintenance.

“Today we’re highlighting the crack sealing program, which can extend the lifespan of a street between five and seven years, so that helps us maintain our streets in a more economic fashion, so we don’t have to get to that mill and fill where we tear up the streets and repave it quite as soon,” said Director Eric Horvath and Mayor James Mueller.
