The “View” hosts were unusually quiet on the topic of their network yanking “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from the airwaves . But we’re told they weren’t ordered to steer clear of the stunning news.

Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin said nothing about the biggest TV story of week during their live Thursday broadcast.

But while both are ABC shows, an insider told us the ladies “were not silenced.”

“They were not told not to discuss it,” the source said.

The insider suggested that the ladies may have been waiting for Kimmel to speak out, as they did when CBS pulled the plug on Stephen Colbert and the “Late Show” franchise in July. “It’s an ongoing story and hot topics are discussed daily,” they said.
