St. Louis-based Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s new 16-story patient tower will open to patients in October. The tower is part of BJC HealthCare and Wash U Medicine’s larger campus renewal project. The Plaza West Tower will house 224 private inpatient rooms and 56 private intensive care rooms. Equipped with advanced imaging capabilities, the facility is designed to accommodate patient volume surges and isolation needs in the event of future pandemics, according to a Sept. 18 news release from the health system.
The tower will provide bed space for heart and vascular patients undergoing or recovering from transplant, valve repairs or replacements and other minimally invasive procedures, the release said. The post Barnes-Jewish Hospital to open care tower appeared first on Becker's Hospital Revi
