Andre Agassi showered praises on Carlos Alcaraz for his performance this season and his skills on the court, but is hoping for his downfall at the Laver Cup. The tennis legend is Team World’s captain after replacing John McEnroe , who won the title twice before stepping down. Agassi hopes to do the same, but he’s anxious about the influence Alcaraz brings.

Alcaraz will be the first World No.1 to participate at the Laver Cup since Rafael Nadal in 2017. He’s entering the tournament on the back of his excellent Grand Slam victory at the US Open in New York. The 22-year-old has been the most in-form player on tour since April and has won four of the last five tournaments he competed in.
