DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- A deputy with the Covington County Sheriff's Office was fired after allegedly putting a man on the ground and hitting him during an arrest.
According to Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman, an investigation was launched after the deputy performed a traffic stop during the early morning hours of Friday, September 12, when a driver failed to use a turn signal.
Sheriff Turman says the deputy, who has not been publicly identified, asked the driver for his license and to step out of the vehicle, and when the driver refused, the deputy pulled the man out of the car, put him on the ground, and hit him three times.
