WASHINGTON (KMOT) – Minot native Andrea Travnicek was one of 48 nominees for federal positions confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Thursday.
President Donald Trump nominated Travnicek for Assistant Secretary for Water and Science at the Interior in February.
Earlier this month, Senate Republicans voted to modify chamber rules to allow them to essentially fast-track the confirmation process for some nominees.
Pending Pres. Trump’s signature, Travnicek will once again serve under Doug Burgum, this time in the Interior.
Travnicek served as Director of the Department of Water Resources under then-Gov. Doug Burgum.
