Three weeks into the Southeastern Conference football season, few of the 16 teams are what we figured they’d be. Some are better. Some are worse.
Whether that’s an anomaly or the start of a wild SEC season, we shall see. But here’s how to rank the SEC teams based on how they’ve exceeded expectations in these three short weeks:
1. Texas A&M: Did the Aggies’ 41-40 win at Notre Dame create a star in quarterback Marcel Reed and launch a new era in College Station? The Ags hadn’t beaten a top-10 team on the road since 2014.
2. Mississippi State: The Bulldogs beat Arizona State, when it was ranked 12th. Hail State is 3-0; some wondered if it could get to three wins all season.
