All hail Jay Jacobs , the state Democratic chairman, for refusing to bend the knee to Zohran Mamdani , warning that the candidate’s socialist agenda doesn’t represent “the principles, values or policies of the Democratic Party.”

What a contrast to Gov. Kathy Hochul , who this week endorsed Mamdani on the clear calculation that it’ll boost her re-election chances next year, no matter how much they disagree on principles and values.

Among those values, as Jacobs noted: “I strongly disagree with [Mamdani’s] views on the state of Israel.”

Hear, hear.

Makes you wonder what’s keeping other Democrats from pointing out that the avowed socialist’s principles are at odds with the Democratic — not to mention the American — mainstream.
