SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Caddo Parish Commission voted Thursday evening (Sept. 18) on whether or not to build pickleball courts in Shreveport.
The commission voted at its regular meeting Thursday evening in favor of building the courts. Three commission members voted against the project: Ken Kracman, Ron Cothran, and Ken Epperson Sr. All others voted in favor.
The plan is to build the park right behind the Lash Family YMCA on Shreveport’s east side to highlight the fitness, social, and tourism benefits in the city.
The $10 million pickleball court project has been delayed multiple times, in July and August meetings.
The project has gotten mixed feedback since its announcement.
