People over the age of 66 are set to receive certain financial boosts later this year, with three additional payments from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ). Payments will total £460 for eligible pensioners.

The three payments include the Winter Fuel Payment, the Warm Home Discount, and the Christmas Bonus - all of which will be automatically paid, meaning pensioners will not need to apply.

Around 12 million pensioners are expected to receive the Winter Fuel Payment, which is worth £200 per household or £300 where at least one person is aged over 80, the Express reports .

Those with higher incomes above £35,000 will still receive the payment, but it will later be recovered by HMRC through either PAYE or self-assessment.
