SPOKANE, Wash. – A jury in Spokane Superior Court found a man guilty of multiple child sexual abuse charges, Airway Height Police said in a release .

The verdict came after a two-week trial where Brigham Van Wormer, 41, faced one count of attempted rape of a child in the second degree, four counts of child molestation in the first degree and three counts of child molestation in the second degree.

Van Wormer was originally arrested in July 2023 following an investigation by Airway Heights Police.

The investigation focused on allegations that he sexually abused the children of a woman he dated for nearly five years, police said.

Van Wormer pleaded not guilty and was out on bail until the trial began earlier this month.

He is currently held in Spokane County Jail, awaiting sentencing s
