ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of the longest-running collegiate golf tournaments is back for its 70th year. The William H. Tucker Invitational, hosted by the University of New Mexico, will be held at the UNM Championship Course on Friday and Saturday.
In its history, the Tucker has featured some of the best golfers of all time, including Tiger Woods, who won his first-ever college tournament with Stanford in Albuquerque in 1994.
This year, the Lobos enter the weekend as a contender to win the tournament. Fresh off a victory at The Wohali in Utah, UNM head coach Jake Harrington said that this year's roster is the best that he's had at New Mexico.
