MEXICO CITY — Canada and Mexico have signed a pact to deepen trade ties and partnerships to build infrastructure such as ports, rail and energy corridors while tackling crime and protecting the environment.
The agreement — billed as a comprehensive strategic partnership — was signed by Prime Minister Mark Carney and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum in Mexico City Thursday.
It includes a plan for a trade mission to Mexico, led by Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc, and $9.9 million in funding for United Nations-led projects to combat drugs and support migrant integration.
